Modeling Changes in Data Discovery

The Data Discovery/Modeling tab provides a series of dialogs that allow the user to make quick changes to the current data model without leaving the Data Discovery application. All changes made via the Modeling tab are permanent changes in the data model. If the data model is later used to create other books, the changes will be present.

When is Modeling Tab Active?

The Modeling tab becomes active when the following conditions are met:

• The data model was created using the Data Model wizard (and not in an external database system).
• The user created the data model or the user has been defined as an administrator for the model.
• The user has permission to edit the data model within the Data Model wizard.
